“Actions have consequences. Singer and songwriter Martin Høybye stresses that with his new single “Where the Water Was” from the upcoming album “Songs in the Key of Collaboration.”

The album was created in collaboration with people in South Africa and Denmark – that accepted Martin Høybye’s invitation to co-write regardless og previous musical experience. The 10 songs on the album revolve around the climate or biodiversity crisis and are based on the collaborators’ own experiences.

On the single “Where the Water Was”, Høybye tells the story of the European colonization of the area around Cape Town in South Africa, including the impact it had on the original inhabitants, the Khoi and San people. The song was written with Cape Town local Casper Ace.”
