The new single “Like Your Mama Did” flips the traditional story of home and belonging. Here, a father encourages his daughter to take the leap and step beyond the familiar.

She comes from a place that can seem hard to leave, where “the sun and rain and rolling thunder has shaped you so far”, and it has been “a pretty good place to grow up”. But if she truly wants to live fully, she has to be willing to let go.

It is this realization that drives the father’s wish for his daughter to dare to follow her inner fire, even if it means leaving what she knows behind.
The single follows “Bad Thing Go”, “Forgiveness” and “Chasing Butterflies” and marks the fourth release from the upcoming album “Clouds & Silver Linings”, set for release on August 28, 2026. While the previous singles explored themes of love, systemic power and the complexities of family life, this release adds a new dimension, the courage to trust in life.
